We grow our own pumpkins here @haarmannfarms and I’ve honed my pumpkin processing skills over the years to maximize efficiency and pumpkin output. Here’s the steps to perfectly prepped pumpkin purée:
Cut a small/medium pumpkin in half and remove seeds. Bake with skin side up for 45-60 minutes at 350 degrees. When you see the skin bubbling and turning brown, it’s ready. Let it cool completely. Slice into quarters for easy peeling. Purée several chunks at once. Place a quart size freezer bag in a cup to easily fill it to your desired amount.
